Gene was born in Alexandria/Egypt on March 11, 1952, and has lived in Rome since 1962, where he graduated in Murales from the St Giacomo Institute.
'Although it is easy for a painter to discuss and exhibit his work and to explain his goals, it is a much more complex task to speak about his life.My full name is Generoso Pompa but, since I was a child, I have been nicknamed 'Gene' and this is howI sign my work.'
